What we do

About Our New Roofs

A new roof is the biggest job most homes will ever need, so it pays to have it done properly. We re-roof houses, extensions and outbuildings across South Lincolnshire in tile or natural slate, renewing everything underneath the covering so the finished roof is sound from the felt up, not just the tiles you can see.

What's Included

  • Stripping and safe disposal of the old roof covering
  • New breathable felt or membrane and treated battens
  • New tiles or natural slate to match your property
  • Ridge, hip and verge work bedded or dry-fixed
  • New lead or flashings around chimneys, valleys and abutments
  • Scaffolding arranged and the site left clean

The options

Types of new roofs we fit

A traditional clay pantile roof
Tiled Roofs

Tiled Roofs

Concrete and clay tiles are the most common choice for homes across South Lincolnshire, and for good reason: they are hard-wearing, cost-effective and come in a range of profiles and colours to suit your property. We lay new tiled roofs over fresh breathable membrane and treated battens, with the ridge, hips and verges either bedded in mortar or dry-fixed for a low-maintenance finish.

A finished natural grey slate roof
Slate Roofs

Slate Roofs

Natural slate gives period, stone and character properties a clean, traditional finish that lasts for generations. It takes more skill to lay well, with each slate holed and nailed and the courses set out so the roof sheds water perfectly. We fit both natural and fibre-cement slate, dressing the lead and flashings around chimneys and valleys so the whole roof works as one.

What Affects the Price

Every roof is different, so we quote each job on its own. The main things that affect the cost:

  • The size and pitch of the roof
  • Tile or natural slate, and the material you choose
  • Access and how much scaffolding is needed
  • Chimneys, valleys and other detailing
  • Whether any timber or guttering needs replacing too

Good to know

New Roofs Questions

How long does a new roof take?

A typical house re-roof takes several days once the scaffold is up, depending on the size of the roof and the weather. We will give you a realistic timescale with your quote.

Tile or slate, which is better?

Both last for decades when fitted well. Slate suits period and stone properties, concrete or clay tiles suit most modern homes. We will talk you through what fits your house and budget.

Do I need a new roof or just repairs?

If the covering is generally sound and problems are local, repairs are usually the sensible choice. When tiles are failing across the whole roof, or the felt and battens underneath have gone, a full replacement works out better value. We will tell you honestly which you need.

Do you arrange the scaffolding?

Yes. Scaffolding is included in the quote and we arrange it for you, so there is nothing separate for you to organise.

Will a new roof make a mess?

Stripping a roof is dusty work, but we sheet up, keep the site tidy as we go and clear away all the old materials and nails at the end so your property is left clean.

Is the quote free?

Yes. We come out, measure up and give you a free written quote with a full breakdown of the materials and cost, with no obligation.
